AYURVEDIC HERBAL DYES
Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest medical systems, literally meaning the "science of life." Integrating the body, mind, and spirit to prevent and treat disease and to promote wellness. In Ayurvedic philosophy, the health of the human body and the universe are all thought to be related. Health problems can result when these relationships are out of balance. The goal of Ayurvedic medicine is to cleanse the body of substances that can cause disease and to re-establish harmony and balance.
Why Medicinal Herbal Dyes
When organic cotton cloth is processed in medicinal herbs it imparts anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-puritic and anti-oxidant properties into the body. The wearing of herbal cloth to prevent and cure disease is a type of passive treatment. When the cloth is in direct contact with the skin, the body's heat will help to discharge the herbal molecules from the cloth. The molecules are then absorbed through the skin and breath, increasing the rate of blood flow. Air next to the skin is trapped in the weave of the cloth, the heat transmitted from the skin to the cloth is radiated to the clothing itself. The heat then activates herbal molecules in the cloth and is reflected back to the body dilating the blood vessels and the herbal molecules enter the circulatory system and act at different layers of the skin. The herbal molecules in the body increase the blood circulation, helping to removing the toxic metabolic wastes through sweat. Furthermore the herbal molecules have anti-oxidant properties. The blood transports molecules deeper into the Circulatory System.

Ayurveda uses herbs for protecting the skin from the harmful rays of the Sun and to keep it healthy, molecules act with the melanocytes present in the skin and control its function. This blocks the UV rays from penetrating deep into the skin. Herbal treated cloth has the ability to protect us from various skin diseases, provide relief from viral infections and mental depression. The herbs used for dyeing and processing the yarn and fabrics are being used in various Ayurvedic treatments and medicines for the treatment of skin diseases, hyper tension, depression, allergic complaints, and in herbal cosmetic products. The medical properties of herbs are known to cause no damage to the human body. |
